We want to thank everyone who participated in our Summer Slam, Scamper, and Technology Camps this summer. We had over 250 students participate in these programs. Also a huge thanks to all of our instructors and program managers as they made the camps so great. Finally, big thanks to all the grant providers for our camps: Community Gaming, Canada Summer Jobs, Abby Foundation, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, BC Hydro, and the JMCS and Clearbrook PAC. Thank you for all the great memories this summer!
With that said, our office is closing for the rest of the summer. We will open back up on September 8, 2015. We will continue to take Jumpstart Applications and we will start our fall registrations in September. If you want to register for a program now, most of our fall programs are already available for online registration on www.simpleprogramguide.com. Our brochure is also available in the link to the right.
Thank-You and have a great rest of summer!
Summer is here and so our summer camps have started. We have had a great month of registrations as every camp we offered has completely filled up and in some cases even over filled!!! Our first week of Summer Slam was amazing and we had many students overcome their fears as they completed the WildPlay course on our Thursday out-trip. The second week has started, and with it our Game Design Intro class and Scamper have started as well. This week, Summer Slam and Scamper will both be going to Extreme Air Park for the Thursday out-trip, and the Game Designer’s will be making amazing games and ending the week with a pizza party!
As July 2 has passed, we are now accepting Jumpstart Applications again. If you need financial assistance towards a sport for your child, please call us at 604-859-6919 to set up an appointment.
** UPDATE: Tech Week 1 and 2 are full, Summer Slam every week is full!! **
We are now accepting Summer Camp registrations. Click on the images below for the registration forms and for more information! Register before June 15, and save $5 per week! Online registration is available at www.simpleprogramguide.com

Welcome back to school! Our brochure for Winter 2015 is ready. You can download it by clicking on the image below. We are taking registrations for all of our programs!
We are going to have a Winter Day Camp and a Game Designer’s Camp this winter from December 29 – January 2, no class on January 1st.
The day camp is a great and cheap alternative to day care. It is for children in grades 1-8, and runs from 9am – 3pm at John Maclure Community School. The kids will have an opportunity to socialize during the winter break. The camp will also include organized gym games, crafts, movies, computer time, and much more. The cost is $70 for the 4 days. Please see the sign up sheet below.
The game designer’s camp is a quick one week camp where students will have an opportunity to get introduced to programming. In the one week, we will cover introduction to programming, logic, problem solving, and exploring the applications of math in computing. The children also learn about character design, level design, and game design. The camp will end with a pizza party on Friday, and a chance for the kids to show off their games to their parents. The camp runs from 9am – 12pm, and is $50 for the 4 days.
Great news, we are back to school on Monday. We will be starting our breakfast program on Tuesday. We are looking for volunteers for the program, specifically, we need assistance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Our programs will all be starting within a few weeks, so register asap! Students should be taking our brochures home on Monday, so look for them in their backpacks! Our registrations have been low due to the strike, so please get the word out about our programs to friends and family, so that we won’t have to cancel any programs due to low numbers. Registrations are also open online at www.simpleprogramguide.com.
Preteen Xtreme will be starting on September 29th at Chief Dan George, from 6-8pm.
Also, we are providing JumpStart Academy at all 5 elementary schools, please inquire at the school office about the program. The 5 elementary schools are JMCS, Clearbrook, Ten-Broeck, Bondar, and Terry Fox.
The WACSS office will be open September 2nd at John Maclure Community School. There may be picket lines at the school, but our office will still be available to parents. You will also be able to reach us by phone at 604-859-6919 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Our office will not be closed and our programs will continue as scheduled during the strike. We are taking registrations for all of our programs as well as for Jump Start. You can find our programs in our brochure.
One last note, please keep an eye on the Labour Action updates. Information can be found at http://bcparentinfo.ca/ as well as http://www.sd34.bc.ca/district/labour-action-updates.
