Great news, we are back to school on Monday. We will be starting our breakfast program on Tuesday. We are looking for volunteers for the program, specifically, we need assistance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Our programs will all be starting within a few weeks, so register asap! Students should be taking our brochures home on Monday, so look for them in their backpacks! Our registrations have been low due to the strike, so please get the word out about our programs to friends and family, so that we won’t have to cancel any programs due to low numbers. Registrations are also open online at www.simpleprogramguide.com.
Preteen Xtreme will be starting on September 29th at Chief Dan George, from 6-8pm.
Also, we are providing JumpStart Academy at all 5 elementary schools, please inquire at the school office about the program. The 5 elementary schools are JMCS, Clearbrook, Ten-Broeck, Bondar, and Terry Fox.
The WACSS office will be open September 2nd at John Maclure Community School. There may be picket lines at the school, but our office will still be available to parents. You will also be able to reach us by phone at 604-859-6919 or by email: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our office will not be closed and our programs will continue as scheduled during the strike. We are taking registrations for all of our programs as well as for Jump Start. You can find our programs in our brochure.

The WACSS office will be closed between August 11 – September 1. At this time, you will most likely not be able to reach us. If you have any questions or concerns, you can call our office and leave a message at 604-859-6919 or email either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We had a great summer here at WACSS. We’ve kept busy, working non-stop ever since school has been out. We held a total of 6 weeks of summer camps. This year was a record year for our Summer Slam camps, as we had an average of 31 students/week in our camps. The kids had a lot of fun through out the summer, and many of them returned for multiple weeks. We had lots of out trips, including fishing, mill lake, wildplay, extreme air park, library, museum, firehall, and more!
Our Scamper program concluded it’s 5 week run as well. Many of the participants were able to reach their grade’s reading levels! Congratulations everyone!
Our Summer Slam and Scamper programs are going full speed ahead!
Summer Slam Week 1 starts today (June 30) at John Maclure Community School. It is held in the portables in front of the school. There is still some room in weeks 4, 5, and 6. Register NOW to reserve your spot!
Scamper will begin Monday, July 7th, and it will be held inside John Maclure Community School.

Currently, all schools are open and our programs are operating as scheduled. Please see the attached school district announcements regarding the labour action updates.
However, read below for information regarding our policy if there are picket lines which will lead to school closures.
In the event of school closures due to strike action (picket lines), all of our programs will be closed. We will provide a “credit” for days missed, and our programs will continue once the schools re-open. We will make every attempt to extend the program dates in order to make up any program time lost due to possible job action. This credit can be used for future WACSS program registrations. Furthermore, there will be no staff in the Community Office but we will be checking our messages and emails.
Our Spring Brochure is ready. Registrations are now open for all of our programs. During the Spring break, you can register for our programs online through www.simpleprogramguide.com.
Otherwise, just give us a call or visit our office during regular school hours. If your children attend one of the 5 WACSS elementary schools, you should also be receiving a hard copy of our brochures this week!
